What is the New Green Savings program?

It’s a program of the Ministry of Environment administered by the State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic focused on energy savings and usage of renewable sources in households, apartment buildings and public buildings. The New Green Savings program is mainly aimed to support the installation of heating sources that use renewable energy, but also focuses on investments in energy savings in renovations and new constructions. The program will support high-quality thermal insulation of houses and apartment buildings, replacement of environmentally unfriendly heating with low-emission biomass heating sources and efficient heat pumps, installation of these sources in new low-energy buildings and construction in accordance to the passive energy standard. Czech Republic gained funds for this program by selling the so-called Emission credits under the Kyoto Protocol on reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
